This was my first trip out of CHS and the first phins in my boat. Hooked up to a wahoo first thing but lost him at the boat. That would have also been a first. Very rookie mistake, didn’t keep the boat going fast enough and he got under the boat and broke off:angry:. Live and learn. Anyway, we manage to get 2 dolphin in the boat. Might not sound like much but for me it was awesome!!! Fished from Edisto Banks out to 500ft and back. I think I saw a few sails get air borne. Not sure though.
Thank you to everyone that responded to my post on the discussion forum. It gave me the confidence to get out there. It is nice knowing someone has your back if worse comes to worse.
Great job BJ. It is truly an awesome day when you get that “first” of anything in the boat. Now you have to go for your first biggest bull, or first biggest cow, and so on.
Pictures…You can email them to me or what you should do is open a Photobucket.com account, upload your pictures (so you can keep an album going) and post the IMG code ONLY…Just copy & paste it…Great job on the dolphins, can’t wait to get my 1st ones as the captain!

Right on with the first dolphin man… the first dolphin I ever hooked into was on a charter boat on 20# test and the captain said he was easily over 50#… lost him at the boat… that made the first one I landed that much more special… but it was truly great to catch my first dolphin on a ballyhoo that I had rigged… good times!!! It just keeps going and going it never gets boring! Congrats on your fish!
Great job there Big Jake,I started going 4 years ago in my 20ft. and have loved every trip out so far, my son has gone the last 3 years now as well, he’s now 15 and don’t have a problem getting him up that morning.
