My first SLAM!

Didnt have a fishing buddy today so I walked out to my favorite low tide spot and had an awesome day with my first ever inshore slam! Got out there just as the tide started coming in around noon. All fish caught on live MMs under a popping cork. First, I got a flounder and 2 trout by drifting the mudders where is knew there was submerged rubble with a steep drop off. Switched to artificial when I saw fish (reds, I assume) splashing around on some mud flats. Tried for maybe 30 min but no takers on DOAs, streakz or paddle tails. Back to the MMs and it was ON! Very consistent bite about 2 hours after low tides. Pulled 3 slot reds out from under a dock and a personal best, 21’’ trout! Also had two fish throw my hook back at me. Had to leave while the bite was hot or I was going to get stranded and have to swim home.

The irony is that I recently got my first boat and have been out probably 10 times in the past 3 weeks and this is was my best day yet. I guess I’m still figuring out how to fish from a boat.

I wish I had a friend who could have taken a picture of me with this guy!

All fish released and swam away healthy

Great pics! Sounds like an awesome day, sometimes those ole land spots are awesome once they aren’t pressured regularly! What reel is that?
