My first tagged Red

So excited! Today was a great trip out on the Ashley. My friend from work and I figured we would try a different spot instead of Bushy Park, so we put in over off Leeds avenue. We set up shop not far from the boat ramp and had a good feeling about the location. So, about 30 minutes into our first spot, my float takes a serious dive and I am stoked! Get the fish to the boat after a few good runs and surprise tagged Red!!! So, not only was this my first tagged fish caught, it was also my personal best at 24.5 inches! It was a really great couple of hours on the water. Then when I got home I got the good night call from Drew and find out the little fishaholic hit up the pond down the street from his Mom’s house and caught 15 bream! He’s hooked on fishing now and I couldn’t be prouder of the little guy. Anyway, just wanted to post about the great evening, hope you guys had a good one too…

Looks like a healthy fish. Thanks, for sharing the info. Let us know what they say about the fish. They have released many fish in the Ashley with tags and they seen to want to stay in the Ashley.

O-Oh… am I suppose to say there are fish in the Ashley (or the Wando or the Cooper or the Folly or…)?

Good job. Good report.

thanks man! very glad to hear the next generation of fisherpeople are being taught well and loving what they learn!!!

i got a tagged 32" last week that was tagged by the DNR guys a little over a year ago and 10 miles away. he had grown only around 4", which makes me wonder if the cold winter didn’t stunt some fish… or if maybe that’s normal for a 4 year old.

john will get you the information on that fish soon… take care man

Great catch man… I hope to get my first tagged fish this year also. Congrats!
