My kayak route today....

My short route today.
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1834092

To be fair I was going out against the current through Elliots cut. Only one bite in the mouth of the creek at the 1/2 way point. Was using yellow head jig and natural color gulp shrimp just tied to line.

I need to learn tackle and such for here, but right now just having a blast being on the water each afternoon

Archaegeo, you need to sign a commission contract with Hobie.

Even the salesmen at the festival were not that enthusiastic about the drive system. They all thought it was good, even great, but they certainly did not try push it.

One salesman told me to save money and take a paddling class.

You are starting to make me reconsider!

Give in to the dark side.

Seriously though, they are alot more expensive. You can get 2 standard kayaks for the price of one Revolution.

That being said, if you have the money, get the revolution, or a tandem. Everyone says the Hobie tandems work well solo, you just might need to put your cooler in the front seat to keep the nose down a little.

Still, two revolutions would be great, or adventures if your going for distance.

Ive been out Sat when I bought it and then Mon-Thurs this week, would have gone out Sun too but took out the Regal with wife and friend.

My next step is to get an Eagle Cuda 250 and put it in, 199 online if you look around and they have great reviews.

Naa, just happened across it while out peddlin around exploring, looked interesting. Saw on the map its a loop, about 4.5 miles total, so might do that next time

I’ve had the Cuda 2 years without problems except corrosion between all the electrical connections. Hard to keep dry in a yak.

Tried various foam/vaseline mountings. Found that summer heat and bumping around the yak during transport would loosen the transucer mounting. Finally “Gooped” it in and no problems since.

Also mounted transducer well forward of the mirage drive so I’d see those shallow bars before the expensive drive systems felt them.
