My new trailer

It is about 2 feet longer then I need.I moved the bunks up so the trim tabs miss the bunks. However i need more tongue weight.I will move axels back about 10 inches. That should do it???
Anyone have to do that on a new trailer?.I got a real nice deal on the trailer so I knew I had to adjust it to fit my boat.I will do that next week.

Sounds about right - lot of work …

Thanks, Captain Ross

Joe…seems just the opposite to me. If you needed more tongue weight…wouldn’t you move the axels forward?

John

moving the axles forward would mean more weight on the back. which would then cause the front to be pushed up. meaning less weight in the front.
like a see_saw. more weight on one side cause the other side to rise. thus less weight…

Yes…you are right…I’ve been over here too long…can’t even think straight.

John

Fishb8: Good analogy, with the see_saw discription:smiley:

Get a couple of bags of sand and strap them to the front of the trailer and be done with it. Spend your time having fun instead.

“I have tomorrow open!”

Do you have room to move the winch post forward? Much easier and faster if you can do it.

Take it to a professional.
