Thought I’d try and post a couple of pics of my old Whaler - (first time I’ve tried to post a picture) She’s a 64’ model - 17’ with an all mahogany and teak Super Sport console. 88 hp Evinrude (1985 motor) and she’ll do about 40 pmh at w.o.t. I’ve owned her for 35+ years and have never done a thing to it except plugs every few years and got Chris V put a fuel filter on her last year to handle the ethanol fuel issues. Tried to give her to one of my kids a few years ago but it was “too old” and just “not cool” to have an old boat like that one.

I have the 17’ Newport, not nearly that good a shape, but that 88spl will really push that boat!!
Mine has a fiberglass console and a swing back bench seat over the gas tank. Had to replace the fiberglass Pate tank last year, the ethynol caved it in. It’s old and beat up… but I love it.
Neat boat. Once your kids get a little older, they’ll appreciate the quality in that hull and the wisdom of having a hull that just won’t go bad…kinda’ like a HenryO
