Awesome Pics man!! My daughter is 5 and loves the boat but I have yet to get her offshore. I just don’t want to ruin her or push her too early. How long did you stay? Was he bored…I am sure I would have to bring some “my little ponies” to fish too…Good to see the little ones out there…Ruf

Pro tip from a guy with three kids 4,6,7. Make sure you have bait in the livewell. They will stay out their for a week. Sabiki’s dead sticked in a rod holder are great too. You can fish and so can they. They do need to be busy.

cool man…thanks for the tip

got his daddy’s haircut too (ya’ll must have both lost a bet :-))! You may want to take a pro tip from your son and smile some P-1!

Good on a man, glad ya’ll had a big time and thanks for helping secure the future of fishing.

I’m warning you, the first place a woman starts to lose weight from is in her brain. I know this because most skinny women are crazy.

nice job! he looks just like his dad

Thats good stuff, my son Nicholas has been fishing with me since he was 4 yrs. old. Now he takes the ocean better than me and some of my fishing buddies. Now my daughter Jana wants to fish some tournaments this year. She is 8 and she has been fishing since she was 6 as well.

Those are a couple of nice spanish mackerel. What did they measure? Did your boy get to fight them?

we were down in the Gulf. we caught kings and some spanish that day and he got to bring some in. did not measure them. i was very surpised how well he did. it was hot and we were out there for about hours - never complained a bit. as long as the fish are biting, he is having fun.

I have twin 4 year olds and after about 30min they are playing tag running around the console. Drives me crazy…They problem with my two is they have been around water all of their life and have no fear of the deep. I dont want them to be scared just to respect the water a little more.
If the fish are bitting one after another I can keep their attention for about a hour. My little girl would rather play with the bait anyway…The funnest thing is that she has to name all of the fish. The boy on the other hand doesnt want to touch the fish but he loves to reel them in…

now thats a pro tip right there! mudminnows are the best.

The older I get, the better I was.

Start them when they are young, my son has been going with me since 3.5, at 4.5 now, he has 2 trips to the break and around 10 30 mile trips under his belt. He takes it better than I do, but needs to work on his driving skills, he is learning how to follow the line on the gps, but cant see over the console so I have to watch out for other boats.

We were out the first week of dec bottom fishing and were running from the horseshoe to the parking lot at around 30 when my fishing buddy on the CAN MAN pulled up right beside us, he looked over and immediately reached for the throttle, I told him it was no use to race as 2x225 beats 1x150 every time!!:smiley:

When my youngest son was about that age he would go out and get sick and throw up but would never ask to go home and when we caught fish -he would forget about being sick and totally recover.

After a few years - he stopped getting seasick altogether.

Both of my boys started early and are dyed in the wool offshore fisherman.

There ain’t nothin better than fishin with your kids.
