Left shem creek around 4:40 or so, headed out with Big Daddy Don, his son Surfer Blake, his buddy Sam the man and my son Big JR. Don’s son and buddy are rising seniors at Wando and my son is 10, it was his first trip offshore. Nice ride out at 30 mph. Started trolling in 120 ft, first up was me and it was a cuda. Next was Big JR, he handles it like a pro, a nice bull comes in on the way back and starts jumping and putting on a show. I grab it, while the boy’s get the belt on JR, I set the rod in the belt and its on. JR hangs in there, while the hugh beast makes several runs,(Dad helps him hold on), the beast puts on a great areial show for JR, he makes several runs and it looks like JR may give out, not him, he gets his second wind and surfs drags the beast the last ten ft to the boat, and I make the gaff, The smile on my sons face priceless, he is hooked, I was a proud dad. Sufer Blake and Sam the man were up next, on a tag team double, the boys did a great job hanging in there, the fish were going everywhere, they switched sides a couple times. Surfer Blake man handle his to the boat first after an epic battle, then Sam the man came through and brought his along side after a long fight. I put the steel in both fish and slam them in the box. Everyone was feeling good. We ate some chicken, Big Daddy Don and I drank a couple cold one’s. Then came the day maker for Big Daddy Don, The right flat goes off, then the left flat, then the left off the outrigger. It was the same fish, a good bull. Had him on two rods for a few, then it was down to one rod and Big Daddy Don had it in his hands. The beast put on a great show jumping and running for a good 30 minutes or so. Big Daddy Don wore him down and brought him along side the boat, I gaffed the beast and brought him in, the beast caught his second wind befor I could get him in the box and beat Big Daddy Don about the legs for the next ten minutes, until I subdued the beast with an elbow drop to the head and put him in the box. All in all it was a great trip, we worked
