Went out friday evening and ran out of bait in 2hrs w/only 2 keepers but couldn’t keep lines in the water with all the shorts. Figured it was time to bring Bubba out for a steady dose of striper Sat evening. I have taken him out before in the early spring/winter but he was more interested in the herring and gameboy to really care. This time would be different…lol…no gameboys, toys, handling every bait in the livewell…etc…lol. he wore me out trying to keep bait on the hooks and fish off them for him. They finally slowed down around dark, but i figured we might end up with a bigger fish once the sun went down and eventually we did. He got his first keeper and the biggest of the night, along with our other 2 keepers. I guess the biggest highlight though was having a double hook up a couple of times with my 6yr old son and we are back to back reeling fish in…Sorry for the long grammatical incorrect read but just wanted to share my story. Trying to get a video loaded up soon.
nice job chip. i should have been at the dam this morning instead of going to wateree creek for catfish with my son jeremy. we had two bites all day and the left wheel/axle/bearings burned off on the way back. you should see how a 19’ seapro looks loaded backwards on a rollback. got it home. going to have to get new axle this week. keep in touch. i want some striper action.
Nice job Chip. I’m taking my boy out for a try saturday. He’ll turn 4 on wednesday and loves catching bream. this will be his first try at striper. We’ll see how the old zebco 33 holds up to the stripers.
hey tom; i am boatless for a while so please remember me. also; if you hear anything i really need to find a paying job. have been layed off over 6 weeks. thanks
