I have created a monster! My wife was never into fishing until I talked her into going once last year. Ever since then she has been hooked. Its gotten to the point where she told me Friday night we were fishing Saturday because low tide was at 830 and it was a perfect set up. It was our first trip with the whole family. We ventured out with our 2 year old daughter and our 4 year old son. We were not sure how it was going to go so i set out early and caught bait. Caught a bunch of finger mullet and some nice shrimp in our creek. Called them up and they met me at the dock. Anchored up on Abbys favorite dock and never moved. We caught a bunch of nice fish with the biggest over 30". We lost about 8 more, which absolutely killed my wife. I have never seen someone take losing a fish so personal. The kids did a great job, our son was the bait boy, our daughter just relaxed and took it all in, and they both loved helping catch the fish. My wife was really happy because it showed us we could handle both kids on theboat which means we can fish everyday this summer while the kids are of of school. I love the fact she loves to fish so much and the kids love it too. Here are a few pics from our trip.

Wow! You have the best thing going! Looking at your sign-off statement, maybe the wife can crank the motor and be the designated driver while you fish and drink beer. LOL! My wife won’t go out of sight of land and thats OK with me. If she did, she would start counting my beers!
based on my experience in fishing derbies as a kid back home watching 4 year olds get the biggest catfish in the pond every year…give the kids a scooby doo, snoopy, or spongebob fishing pole with hook and bobber and theyll each hook and land a 40" red and be hooked for life. nice fish!
Your a good man, with a good woman, and a beautiful family. Count yourself blessed and roll with it!
Keep those little ones entertained on the boat between fish so that they want to keep going back! Boredom is the enemy when they are little! Snacks, drinks, & diversions until the Snoopy rod bends! Then YEEEE HAAAAA!!!
Thanks for all the comments. I do find myself very fortunate and thank my lucky stars every day. Vinman, the kids could have cared less about fishing. You would have thought they were at Disney with as much fun as they had playing with the mullet in the livewell. They also played with a bucket full of water, and drenched themselves as well as the boat. They also ate their weight in goldfish! Kut08, i think the same thing. My fishing time has nearly quadrupled since she started fishing. Only problem i have is that she gives me the guilt trip when I go with my fishing partner. But she understands; we worked out an agreement in the beginning where family fishing time doesnt count against my regular fishing time. So if the family goes out 3 times in one week, and i want to go on the weekend, she cant say no because i have already been 3 times:). I have yet to get her wading on the flats, but can only imagine what would happen if she tried that. Penfishn; she is an awesome captain but refuses to back a trailer:smiley:. Easy; she loves to drive the boat and lets me drink all the beer I want…did i mention that i was lucky!
