I’m brand new to the forum, someone from capmel.com recommended this site to me. I’m coming to Myrtle Beach the weekend of June 15-19, and my brothers and I are looking to take my dad out for a half day of fishing while we are there.
First off, is offshore or inshore a better bet to catch fish in mid-June? We’d love to get on bigger fish if there’s a really, really good chance we get on them. If there’s not, we’d prefer quantity over quality.
Second, like i mentioned we are looking to do a half day trip, four of us in total, and spend $1,000 or less. From experience, how does that sound in terms of feasibility?
Any suggestions on captains or certain charters? I’m very receptive and I’m putting my faith in you forum members because CapMel in Florida has been great to me thus far.
Thanks, and I appreciate in advance all your responses!
Doc or Tea2sea can give you the hook up. Both good guys that charter out of Murrells Inlet just a few minutes south of Myrtle Beach. Murrells Inlet is a cool lil place to hang out even if you’re not fishing. Doc does inshore T2C does both. They will be straight up with you about what’s biting instead of feeding you a line just to get a trip booked. Both are regulars on this forum. Beware they are full of it though!!! Especially the short wanna be movie star/ex-golfer[:0][:0]
Captain Shannon will show you a great time! Im sure Englis will as well, but I have actually been out with Captain Shannon, and we had a blast with the redfish. Good luck, and have fun.
My wife and I have fished a number of times with Captain Englis Glover, aka Captain E, aka Tee2Sea Fishing, at 843-655-5459. If he’s already booked up, he’ll refer you to the right Captain.
We have also heard good things from good people about Captain Shannon.
Good luck, you will have fun!

Both are great Captains. I have never fished with Captain Shannon but I have with Englis and have never failed to come in with fish. He’ll put you on them…

As stated above Doc aka Captain Shannon outside this forum. If Shannon and Englis are booked Captain Jay Baisch is also a great guy/fisherman, he is Fishful Thinking Guide Service.
Thanks for your insight and information. I have spoken to Captain E and we are on for Sunday, June 17. I’m thrilled to get on some fish with my two older brothers and father. It should be an awesome trip; just praying for the weather to cooperate!
Tight lines to all
There’s a reason it’s called fishing and not catching
I’d like to thank you all for my name in the hat…All mentioned can get the job done…you made a good choice on E he can get you offshore a while and if nothing he can get back in fast and hope to get a Red or flounder…Good Luck, fishing has been tough…
I’m tired of being told that I have to “spread the wealth” to people who don’t have my work ethic. I’m tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it. I think I’m going fishing…!!
