Has anyone ever chartered a boat down there? Will be there in early Dec on a cruise and while according to the fishing charts on the charter sites there isn’t supposed to be a lot around I figured I’d try my luck. There is an excursion option through Royal, but I was wondering if anyone here has any first hand experience with charters there. thanks in advance
Fishing is not very good there. Much better at the out islands. I wouldnt waste the time or money
I was just there and we put a nice Wahoo on the deck on a 3/4 day (although we lost 2 hours driving someone back to the dock. We fished with Reel Dreams and they were good overall. Totally set us up with beer, lunch, etc. pre-ordered with them. We also looked at Born Free which had nicer boats, but anecdotally not as good on the target species.
Email or call either, they will talk you through what is and isn’t doable pretty reasonably from my experience.
I would think if you could find a boat willing to run to where the fish are, you could find some good fishing.
