This year I am looking to check off a fish that has been on my list for awhile. In NC, I have caught many wild, native brookies high in feeder streams. I have never caught any in my home state. I have caught rainbows and browns in the bigger upstate rivers and some streams near Oconee State Park. I am looking to land a wild, pure-strain brook trout in SC. I am trying to find some feeder streams that may still have some of these in it. Hopefully far enough up any river system that if stockers were put in there they would not/have not been able to make it up to the wild fish. I am aware that the information I seek is sensitive/secretive info so please do not hotspot any of these fragile waters on here. If you know about anywhere that may hold these fish please PM me or send me an email (mt45442@yahoo.com). I keep secrets and I fish small streams alone, so I have no one to tell. The only person that would benefit would be me. Any suggestions are appreciated!
I have downloaded the DNR book on trout fishing in SC. It has a lot of great information and MAPS:smiley: but it does not say if the brook populations in streams are wild or stocked. Here is the link to the trout book for anyone interested.
