Bought a 23’ sailfish late summer of 2010. We cast out 4 times last year. My crew consist of the 4 of us with little or no trolling experience. 1st trip we caught 1 35lb wahoo 8 tuna and 14 dolphin. 2nd and 3rd trip low and mid 20s on dolphin some ranging in upper 20lb range. Last trip upper 20s on dolphins mostly in teens. I have hunted and fished all my life. Do y’all think I’m a natural at this salt water thing or was it a series of beginners luck? Can I expect the same or better #s this season? Need some thoughts from the experts!
Batman - You are a natural!! My thoughts are your numbers will triple in your second season because of your experience. I would invest a ton of money in additional fish lockers for your boat. Fed the dogs and just checked the read. Appreciate the replies. Just to let you know the truth, I am a beginner with off-shore trolling. But the numbers are true! (You can ask my wife, women normally don’t round up) I have no doubt that last year was nothing but luck. I was just throwing a little cut bait on the forum. Just want to be one of the guys!
