I have a 2003key west the anchor light was not working so I purchased a new one and installed. Now the light stays on constantly if the sw is on nav/ancor or off. Any idea what could cause this?

12v stuff is just a loop. From one side of the battery to whatever is using power and back to the other side of the battery. It is really that simple. If your light is on, it is getting juice from the battery. Your switch may have failed ‘on.’ Meaning that it has come apart inside in such a way that it continues to connect the battery to the light in either position. That’s easy to check. Get a volt/ohm meter. Set it to the smallest range above 12v for direct current. Connect the negative lead from the VOM to the battery negative side. Get to the back of your switch and check either side of it with the switch on. You should get 12v both sides. Turn the switch off. Check both sides again. One is still connected to the battery and you should get 12v. The other should be disconnected. You should get 0V. If you still get 12v, then either the switch is bad or something if feeding voltage to the backside of that circuit.
If you get 12v on the ‘off’ side of the switch, remove the wire from that side of the switch and check for voltage again. You should absolutely get zero. If you don’t, something else is wired wrong and is feeding the back side of the circuit for your light.
