NC mtns on fire!

I couldnt believe it. 55 deg. during the day, low 30’s @ night and the trout were rising all day. They were hitting just below the surface. I threw the only emerger pattern I had and ended the day with over 30 trout. The largest rainbow was easily 2lbs. We caught several nice brookies over 18" as well on the emergers and several had what looked like small bites taken out of their tails. In the next pool up I saw why, the rainbows were chasing them downstream in a series of small circles biting @ their tails. #18 red copper Johns and #20PTs caught a few as well. The water levels were very low, making it tough but lots of fun to stalk the pools.

Glad to hear the DH’s are doing well. Did you catch any of the males with the big kipe jaws. Got any pics?

Cheers,

Chris B.

actually I have it all on video. Once I get it on the comp. I’ll post it.
