Check out the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center report. Lots of speckled trout and some nice ones. Why would they live and ours die due to the cold weather last year? Seems like they are further north and have colder winters. Anybody?
They lost their share of fish if I remember correctly. I think the larger fish faired better here and there.
alot deeper water may have protected them. I just fished there all last week (drug my boat up there for a family vacation). Caught trout every day but most were not keepers. So if the big ones are there I could not find them. Bunch of small trout and flounder. The fishing center report may be stretching the truth a little.
