Three in a row for the Cocks. Hell of a game to watch. Tough loss for the Tigers, but they have a chance to have a monumental win over Tech next week. Go get 'em.

“I have tomorrow open!”
Very nice, sharp crisp action shots for a very dark night. Tough to do and really shows the skill of the photographer. It’s a fine line to walk between too much ISO and too little shutter, but you do it well. What zoom are you shooting with again?
Great game!!

Thank ya boys. Glad you liked em. I was using my 300mm on a 5d, but threw the 1.4x TC on there to give it a little extra reach. Also had a 70-200mm as well as a 17-40mm for the pano and close up action.
300mm F4? Or is it that L…F2.8 I think?

It’s the non-is version of the 2.8. Wish I could afford the IS version!
That’s still a very nice lens. Shooting action on a mono, you probably don’t miss it much. At least that’s what I’d tell myself.

I’ve shot with the is version, but turn it off for sports because you don’t need it. But the newer lens has faster AF and is sharper, especially with a TC on.
(**() son. Great grab. Hope you got in on one of those deals I’ve seen. What are you throwing a filter on there for???

Absorbs UV light when I take pictures in the sun.
But throwing plastic in front of that already perfect glass? I say you crazy!!! I don’t use filters unless I need them because of the iq loss with them on, but to each his own.
Plastic on that lens would be a horrible, but that’s a high quality filer that reduces UV light and is almost mandatory (IMO)when shooting in full sun. I take it off when indoors or low light and just use the hood.
You use a filter when you take those stadium shots don’t you.
Interesting take on it. I have a decent UV filter on my 17-40mm, but IQ loss isn’t noticeable on a wide angle, to my eye at least. Other than that and using my CPL some, my glass is always naked.
