A little tough finding bait but managed enough and then ran straight out this morning…nothin doin at the first several sets of bouys…got to cleaner water and the next set held two very big cobias. One immediately ate the free lined haden right next to the boat but Connor pulled the hook right out its mouth. Free lined another in the same vicinity and hooked up to a VERY big cobia that parted the braid somehow after about 5 minutes of a seriously bent rod. Gave them and us a chance to regroup and then Connor finally came tight to a decent fish who ate right next to the boat, stayed close to the surface the whole fight and came on board without too much fuss…total of 6 seen, 3 hooked and one landed.
Had tempura battered, panko encrusted cobia bites with spansh rice and roasted asparagus for dinner.
