Near shore reef

Went out yesterday for the first time since I’ve moved here. We caught fish until we ran out of bait. Over 50 in a mixed bag with only 6 keeper trout, 6 keeper sea bass, and one 33" red fish. I wish the size limit was a little lower on the sea bass. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with eating a 12" bass. Especially when there is so many of them.

That’s a Weakfish and If anyone asks there were 6 people on the boat that day.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

Can’t keep a red drum offshore. 1 weakfish per person.

I just assumed they didn’t keep the Redfish.

We didn’t keep the red. Again, I’m new to salt, but thanks for the info. I’m glad we didn’t run into the man. Nevermind there was 8 people in the boat :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s no meat on a 12" seabass!:stuck_out_tongue:

Hey man those are weakfish there you have in the picture, not seatrout. Be careful because DNR will get you on that. The limit on those is one per person per day 12 inch minimum.

Just looking out for you. Nice fish though.

Also FYI the sea bass size limit is 13"

The man could’ve filled his monthly quota with you that day!

Sea bass we kept were all over 13". I was saying the limit should be lower to like 12".

Fatboy;
Don’t take offense at these guys, we’re all trying to help in any way
to keep all out of trouble and to improve the fishery. It’s a tough
bunch but all mean well and have good intentions!!!:sunglasses::sunglasses:
