E-dog and I had a rare treat, going to a nearshore reef and fishing for sheepshead. Not that challenging, except for all the endangered BSB in the way. Wound up catching about 70-80 fish, mostly BSB, about 20 sheeps and a few assorted ringtails and lizard fish. Most caught on unsuspecting fiddler crabs, but caught some quality BSB on a 1 oz. jig with curly tail Gulp.
Beautiful morning!
Cold, but thankfully the boat had a curtain that kept the air off us on the way out.
We’re barely there 3 minutes, and the boy, who has never caught a sheepshead before, jacks him a nice 17.5"!
Showoff!
Followed by the first of MANY BSB.
Captain and crew! (thanks!)
Edog finally getting some USEFUL advice!
Amazing how small the ocean gets when the rods are bending! This “Johnson” circled us with his Yamaha about close enough for us to spit on him.
Knotheads caught on artie
THE CATCH OF THE DAY!
We just finished some cold chicken for lunch
ha thats funny but only 70-80 bsb??? either you only fished 10 mins, you were slacking, or theyre still on the verge of extinction. looks like the kids havin a lot of fun…nice work!
Looks like a good bunch of fish. Hopefully they will open the BSB for a longer period and let us thin out that population. Like your choice in team apperal, Go Pack
