took my dad, uncle and son out for some fishing. tried the jetties for some bull reds to no avail so headed out to the nearshore reef and proceeded to bail black sea bass and weakfish. also caught two octupus’ and a nice fat 25" flounder. Can anyone tell me why we can only keep one weakfish? they seemed to be pretty abundant?

sometimes we need state law to override fed. Up north, the weaks are over fished so the govt decides to punish everyone. It might be working though…we used to only catch them in the cooler months but for the last 2 years, we have caught them year round.
Thanks, the octopus was hanging onto a black seabass on both occasions. we caught at least 25 keeper black sea bass that’s pretty good for the inshore too bad we couldn’t keep them. And yes that flounder gave some pretty fat fillets. Gonna have to try and target some of them exclusively next time out. catch um up… MIke
Nice fish!!! I don’t know how you were able to get through those bsb to catch them. Think we might have been right next to you if you pulled up about 2 o’clock or so. Luckily my friend that was out with me doesn’t get on cf.com…talked all day about how bad he wanted a keeper flounder. LOL. He’d of had a heart attack if he hooked into a doormat like that.
Thanks, my son had a great time and can’t wait to get out again…he’s got the bug! hope to catch some more flounder like that one in the near future. catch um up…Mike
