the cuz and I went with stickman from Wappoo for some sheep action…cuz snagged 1 small sheep inshore so we headed to the reefs in search of the elusive sheepshead…turned into a nice day and the waves settled down to about a foot and gentle rollers by the time we left about 2 or so…
the cuz with his first sheep of the year…
cuz with a tiny endangered BSB…
stickman and I both caught 1 small red each on a fiddler…cuz later informed us you cannot keep reds caught in Federal waters…glad those fish weren’t in the slot!
stickman said now THIS is how to fish!
Bonzo with a healthy, yet slightly undersized, endangered BSB…
here I am telling him to forth and procreate, so we can catch them year round and in massive numbers soon…otherwise known as the Bonzo stare…
cuz with his second sheep…and yes, all fish that day were caught on Owner Mutu light circle hooks 1/0 and 2/0…
triple hook up…and yes, even with the circle hooks we still gut hooked a handful of BSBs…
don’t think I have ever actually used every single fiddler we purchased for that trip…the BSBs ate all out fiddlers, some shrimp pieces, electric chicken grubs and a small jig…cuz even
I’ve seen bigger fish in home aquariums. I disavow any knowledge of the trip. At least the margaritas were full-sized. Next time the 10 nurses are coming!

I think LEG3 was ready to take the nurses out on your kayak by the time we got back to your house!

is that what the kids are calling it these days?
and yes, the circle hooks were fished all day for the sheeps…but we only caught 2…one thing I did notice though, it does make baiting the hook more difficult without tearing legs off the fiddler, and this was with a 1/0 circle…
Capt Ed, I just don’t think we were in the sheeps…the BSBs were too thick to give the sheeps any room to nibble…I never felt like I missed a bite that was not a BSB!
Capt Ed, being I’m the only one who caught a sheep…hehe. I actually agree with Carl, that baiting was much more difficult. The hook itself did just as good a job on the fish as normal, if not better. It seemed as if they hook themselves a little more easily. I guess a few more times out we can find out for sure.
Yes. It was a gift from a flounder fisherman friend of mine. I had to catch something on it so I could send him a pic. I’ll test it tomorrow inshore (in 20-30 knot winds) to see how I like casting with it.
