I know fishing nearshore is a very common thing to do along the South Carolina coast, but I do not hear too many people that do it as much off of Charleston. I am personally very interested in targeting redfish nearshore. What kind of advice could you give me? Thank you
also: weird question but I have always avoided sharks but have had a few friends that want to catch them, me thinking it would easy I agreed and struggled to catch any of decent size. Any advice on that?
Book a Charter, if this is all new to you the experience you gain will be worth it.
You may not hear a lot of talk about nearshore fishing off Charleston, but it does get done a lot.
Do a search on redfish / spot tail and weed through the replies and bait used. Some on this sight give some fantastic advise others… not so much.
By you saying you avoid sharks, how do you do that? Just quit avoiding them. Dang things are everywhere. Squid, shrimp, or cut bait on the bottom and patience.
