Had a blast on water with co-workers and one of their sons. Trolled shipping channel with no luck on kings. Spanish were thick. Trolled to Nearshore, tried to find a cpl parts of reef but boats were anchored so we just dropped anchor south of rubble and ran back to it…we were off it all day but were just there to have a good time. Guys caught a handful of sharks and BSB a plenty…No size to them…Kept 4 barely legal ones and towards end of trip got a big surprise…caught a nice 16" or so Trigger…didn’t know they were in that close…called it a day just shy of 2pm and headed in for a wet ride home…Seas were pretty rough and stacked up all day. Driving home from Summerville now. We put in @ W.O. Thomas (I think) landing. Not sure how far from sea that it but seemed like a pretty good hike!
This all I need for a supper anyways…None will go to waste! Makes my cleaning duties much easier too. Hope everyone had a great day out today if u fished and not too rough of a ride home…there was about a 16’ skiff out there…seemed dangerous to me as waves were much higher than their gunnels.
Also won the Darwin award for the day…Left the fish/OS bag and my WALLET on the boat @ the buddies house in Summerville. As if that wasn’t bad enough, I left summerville on way back to Lexington with an 1/8 of a tank of gas in the Traverse. Didn’t realize all this til I was around the Orangeburg exit, soon after the low fuel light comes on. Call wife, says see how much change is in car, stopped at exit 139, put $4.63 in the car, 1.3 gallons and hit the road. Made it to Airport Blvd exit 113 and pulled into gas station and have wife on her way with kids to meet me. Really didn’t want to run out of gas and do that damage to car. Count me in for a finalist for the day. Had a safe trip @ sea, not so much on highway.
