Nearshore score

Got the call from Bugcatcher on Thursday to clear my schedule on Saturday for a sheepshead trip so I arranged for on call coverage and it was game on. The main objective was to break in the newly bored motor on the Bugcatcher but sheepshead was a strong secondary goal.
Aswesome ocean on the ride out and we were met by 3 other boats that soon grew to as many as five. The bite was pretty slow but we were 3 determined fishermen and were the last boat out there and still getting bites. Some days you just have to work for your dinner and we did that. Ended the day with a nice cooler of (all NICE) sheepshead and the biggest went 12.4 pounds and 25". Woo!
Thanks Ed and Kevin for a fun Saturday morning. Back in time to vote.

Net gaff!

We caught a few little guys like this one that were let go but most all we caught were pigs.

Well done Kevin. Nice stripes

And here it is… My personal best sheephead at 12.4lbs 25".

Nice haul. Even nicer groceries.

If you’re lucky enough to be fishing, you’re lucky enough.

Very nice!

Congrats!

What type of structure were the sheeps on (barge, rubble, etc)? And how far above the structure?

Olde Man Charters

Didn’t matter. The school moved around so when they came by we all got bites at the same time.
