Went out yesterday morning, we got to the boat ramp at 7:30ish and had motor trouble. Took the boat back to the house and got it runnin, so we finally got on the water at about 8:20. Went around to a couple spots trying to find bait but we could never get on a good school of bait. We headed out to the nearshore catching mostly BSB’s and I had one hook up that I couldn’t get more than 15 feet off the bottom. We never figure out what it was because it broke the hook in half but it felt like I hooked the bottom exept I could pull it about ten feet up and it would pull straight back down to the bottom. Do yall have any idea what it could be? Well shortly after a couple of the guys started getting seasick so we came back in.
if it wanted to stay on the bottom like that it sounds like it was a big ray. i have hooked a couple and it takes almost everything u got to get them off the bottom.

Steel cable, broken anchor line, the fish had you wrapped on something, there’s no telling.
