Need a Amberjack or Baracuda for bait

I need an amberjack or baracuda (or some of those little tunies or false albacores) so I can use for cut bait for catching sharks. If anyone catches one and wants to bring it in, drop me a line at camelclub76@gmail.com and I’ll come to your place (charleston area) and take it off your hands.

I’d really appreciate it.

You may just be surprised that some of the offshore "trash fish" are considered a delicacy to some of the things you can catch inshore/nearshore

I’ve had bonito. I’d rather eat a forty pound reef donkey. I’m one of those people who are not really big on blackfin either though.

Why not just go to your local marina and hang around the cleaning table for a while around 5 or so? You can probably get a bucket full of dolphin bellies easy! Sharks aren’t picky

We like having some meat with skin attached which stays on the hook pretty well.

We float the heads behind on a chum line and put the other stuff in a chum bag…sometimes down at the anchor. Nothing wrong with head and bones…just looking for some yummy meat to put on the hook.

What is 23 talking about. Does he know we are talking about using trash fish for bait? Take that toadfish you catch and cut his head off and throw the tail portion out and you may be surprised at what eats it.

Got your back Fritz.

When I read Ricky’s reply yesterday, I was confused.
Back in the day when I was drinking heavily, it may have made sense.

Now, not so much.

I like Rick, his photos are breathtaking, and his fishing/sporting insight and contributions to this site are outstanding.

Fritz, a lot of times, folks like us are just plain old misunderstood. It is a burden we both must just embrace.

Rick, just teasing, old internet friend and Gamecock comrade…I haven’t had pre-marital sex since I can’t remember when, and I guess it shows.

Happy 4th of July to all!

still drinking?

It’s looking like I picked a bad week to beg for trash fish to use for bait. Wind, rain, rough seas…

Just keep me in mind when you finally get out.

I like to mix in a little ground beef to my shrimp bait balls, patties hold better that way and the dolphin tend top leave the red meat alone.
