Need a motor

I have a 16’ skiff with an older Mercury motor on it that was diagnosed yesterday with the #3 cylinder dead. Really dead. Compression was 15#. Took it apart enough to see piston on #3 and #4 scarred up pretty bad and rings on #3 look to be melted to the piston. To make a long story longer, i am looking for a newer 40-50 hp motor to repower. If anyone has or knows where I might find one I surely do appreciate it.

I have a 2003 Mercury 50 for sale. Very good condition. Your controls should work so I would sell it a little less then asking. Compression is 129, 129, 132.

Don’t fall for that ‘no sales tax’. You will have to get to motor registered. Guess where you get it registered.
