Wanted to buy a 7ft rod for my tld 15, what are some good rods less than $80? If you cant name a rod, what specifications should it have (lure weight, line weight)? I primarily wanted to use it for shark, tarpon, kind macks, bull reds, etc. Thanks in advance!
In that price range I would look at Ugly Stik Custom or Tiger rods. Ugly stik uses good quality components (guides, grips, reel seats) which are typcially what gets cost reduced for graphite boat rods in that price range.

I have a Shimano Speedmaster, which I think is similar in size to a Tld 15, on an 20# class 7’ Uglystick Custom ($75). It would probably do you right for all that except maybe a larger shark.

Yeah I was actually looking at both of those rods, what would you say as far as the specifications on the rod?

I have a couple of Ugly Stick Custom 2270-M which are 7’ rated for 20-50# line. They have a ligher tip which you are going to need if you want a multi purpose rod. The tip transitions to a very strong butt section which will have no problem with 100# sharks and tarpon.

Check out the Rampage rods. RAMBW2050C70. $59.95, 20-50lb mono or 30-65lb braid. These rods are tubular glass with a solid glass tip so they are very strong blanks.
