Great boat, but looks like it has been abused/disrespected. Broke off skeg + “oyster rash” on hull leads me to believe that motor has had a rough life.
Also, the 150 is a bit much for that boat, which puts the scuppers underwater, etc. Could make a good inshore boat, but the price should allow for hull repairs and take into account the motor has been abused and has possibly not been flushed, etc.
If you like the boat, I would make a really lowball offer and walk if the price was not right. You can find similar boats that have received better care.

Thanks for the reply! The guy has it priced at 8.5k. NADA low retail is 10K+. Fair?
I would take the pictures up to Bobby G at G-Craft Marine and get his opinion. He is the best around at fiberglass repair. Thats probably a $3000 or better repair on the bottom. Skeg can be repaired for under $250. I would have the local Pathfinder dealer do a complete workup on the boat/motor/trailer to give you a good “estimate” to take to the owner to show what it is going to cost to put the boat back in a good, safe, fishing condition

$10,000 - $3,000 - 250 = $6,750. I’d consider the “worst case” when making an offer. You may run into fuel tank issues, motor issues, etc. The $10,000 figure would be for a boat with normal wear and tear and evidence of care. Tell him if he wants to have all the issues fixed and fixed right, then it might be worth more.
Think about what you would have to take to get rid of it, or what you would have to spend to get it in good condition to sell. The seller probably will hold out for someone who is not thinking about all this.
If you really want the boat, I’d give him your card with an offer of no more than $6,750 good until about 3 days out, and tell him any more is a “deal breaker” for you. Give him a few days to think about it. Don’t get too anxious. You can probably do better.
If you get the boat for your price, you can afford to deal with the issues.

You are going to spend the difference in $ now or later to have a nice boat.
Having done both, I prefer the well kept boat to the continual project.
It looks like a good deal between $7000-$8000. I would not be scared of it for that price. The price to fix the bottom would be less then $1000. I would also install new gaskets on the head, new prv (popit), and t-stats. Motors worth $3000-4000, trailer $1000, and boat a few more.
The only issue would be the gas tank and wiring. Could be pricey if all that needs updating. But you are looking for a $8000 boat. Expect none to be perfect.

What would a super nice one be worth that needs nothing is the way I look at it. If it equals the repairs added to this one then the better one would be my choice. Unless you just like projects. Which is fine too.
