Need advice on creek, river, flats boat

My cousin is moving to Charleston and we would like to buy a small, used boat. I was considering some kind of jon boat. We basically need it to be useable in tidal creeks, rivers, flats, etc. Would we be better off with a flat bottom boat or with a v hull? There is a 14ft V hull in the classifieds that looks good to me. I know the vhull will give greater stability, but which would be better for my purposes. It will mostly be used for fishing, fetching crab traps, and that kind of thing. Any advice is appreciated.

flat bottom definately, although a 14’ Vs shouldnt draft too much.

vhull will reduce the stability
imagine standing on a log, or on a flat plank
a 14-16 john boat with a 25-40

I have a for sale an alum semi-V 14 footer w/ a strong 35 HP Merc Tiller handle and Elec start. Has lights, fishfinder, dry box, front step and small platform, and the boat really sticks in the turns. My larger ‘flat-bottom’ 17 footer does not stick nearly as well in the turns, but is more stable.
The 14 ft semi-V does well in chop too, and is ‘high-sided’
Send me a PM if ou want to see it or know more.
