Guys, I’m trying to find a 15 ft (no bigger than 16 ft), tiller skiff or Jon boat. I’ve been looking for a used JV series from Carolina Skiff but haven’t had any luck. I had been sort of set on a fiberglass boat, but I’m warming up to the idea of an aluminum hull. I just don’t want a flat bottom boat. Do you guys recommend any semi-v hull aluminum skiffs? Want about Lund? I’m open to any suggestions or reasons why I should stick with fiberglass. Thanks.
I’ve got a 1987 Lund 16ft, side console, with an '87 Mercury 45hp. Not tiller. I’ve had it for about 2 yrs. and am very happy with it. It doesn’t leak a drop of water. It handles the chop a lot better than the jon boat I had before that. I still get wet every now & then, but not near as rough riding. I fish it in Lake Murray.
