Need Experience

I have the boat and some of the gear, but I have no idea how to fish off shore. I am looking for some lessons. I am from the north and off shore fishing is very different from bass fishing. If you have a lot of experience off shore fishing and would like to pass on your knowledge please let me know.

Thanks,

Kevin

I guess I should add I am willing to pay for the lesson!

What type of boat/engines/etc? And what type of fishing are you trying to do?

2012 Sportsman 229 with a single Yamaha 250. I want to troll and bottom fish. I have 4 rods currently 2 TLD 25’s on 5 and 6 ft poles. 1 Penn 113H on a 6 ft rod and a Penn Battle 5000 on a 7.5 rod for bottom fishing. I operate boats for a living so that is not an issue. I just have no idea about bait, techniques, and rigging.

Kevin

do you have a GPS and depth finder and epirb and all that?

“Good things come to those who bait”

I have a GPS with depth sounder. I will use my work epirb.

Kevin

what model? you have any coordinates?

“Good things come to those who bait”

740 I do not have them programmed in, but can obtain them at the local stores.

Kevin, I would just ask for a few experienced anglers to join you on a trip. I’m sure you would have plenty of takers and most would be willing to help share your expenses. You can find a list of reef locations and the GPS coordinates on the DNR web site. Sounds like you have the fishing gear. I would definitely take a portable VHF and program the epirb. Stop by Hadderals for bait or bring a cast net and catch your own. You’ll be catching fish in no time.

If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.

send Kipper a PM. he has been trying to go for three months. i would go but i’m back at college now

I will be glad to help.I just need a little notice as I live in the upstate;September is a good month to go wahoo fishing and takes a few tricks or two if you are game,I will not go unless weather looks good,PM me if you would like some Professional help and we will talk.I’m self employed so flexible as far as days go

I’d love to go. Just give some heads up and a call to go over how you want to rig for trolling.
