Why is everyone going for the 8 oclock? Is there any difference in events? Can anyone who went last year sound off on how this event goes. I got tickets for 5pm, so should I get there early for brews and vendors or what? Thanks!
I like to refer to the 8pm show as the “chicken wire show”… basically all the rowdy types gather at this particular hour… the 5pm show has the same content and gear and such… maybe a few less shenanigans…

IMO, this was the worst year yet. I actually wanted the fish porn.

I thought it was one of the best years personally… The movies were well put together, had a message/story to tell, and there was plenty of porn in there too… But maybe thats just me…

IMO they should include more salt in the charleston show. I was a little bored by some of this years selections

I get your point Optiker… but they can only work with what they’re given. They’re not gonna show a crappy video just because its saltwater… So they only pick a handfull of the best films from that year, unfortunately alot of those are fresh… Will Benson is really the only guy consistantly making “salt” films out there right now… but I counted 3 pure salt films…
I guess its a little different for me as I come from a trout background, but I really just enjoys watching fishing… don’t care for what, and I especially dig the way out there/what the hell kind of fish is that/riding elephants/dodging headhunters type films as well… To me a film serves one purpose, to tell a story… There are plenty of films out there that are just straight up gopro porn, but the F3T is going to more of these tell a story/have a message type films… Personally i’m excited about it, and love it… But once again, different strokes for different folks I guess…
There is only one solution if you want more salt… Make a film… easier said than done i know, but thats what has to happen if we want to represent the salt… Ive got a few ideas, well see what happens…
