I am hoping to get my kayak out after a long dismal winter, and hope to make it down from Rock Hill for a rare attempt at stripers. I am looking to put in somewhere on the north side of the lake, but I do not know where to try and pick up some live bait.
Can anyone help me out? I hope to put in in Buffalo Creek or Bear Creek, so anywhere along that stretch of the lake would be great.

I don’t believe either of the phone numbers above are still active. But George’s cell phone is 803-873-3258, and it is working.
This is the closest bait to Buffalo Creek.
You can also get bait, most times, at The Station 2 on State Park Road, near Dreher Island State Park. George supplies their herring.

The two numbers I have for George’s Herring are 803-873-3258 for George and 803-447-2067 for Martha, his wife, who often runs the bait house.
Take it from me- if they don’t answer, don’t drive all the way up there anyway- they aren’t there!

Thank you to all for the help. Of course nothing worked out for me this morning. Had to work until 9:30 last night, got up at 4:15 to head out and realized once I got 40 miles down the road that I had forgot my bait tank! By the time I got back to the house, it seemed to late for the drive down.
Naturally tomorrow looks pitiful, my next chance and now it looks like it may be another two weeks before I get another shot at it. (I do have a gulfstream charter this weekend out of Charleston, so hopefully the wahoo, mahi, and tuna will commit suicide and come to the boat).
I will hold onto this info though, and again thanks to all.
