Need help trouble shooting GPS module not respondi

Anyone have a Lowrance system with an LGC 2000, 3000, or 4000. I have been trying to get mine up and running with no luck and alot of wasted money. Got the “GPS module not responding” message. Did the trouble shooting and thought it was the antennna/module. Had a LGC 2000, but changed to the LGC 4000 module with a converter cable. Getting good voltage to the antenna, but still the foul message. I would like to find someone with a working unit with the LGC 2000, 3000 or 4000 so I can connect my antenna to it to see if that is the problem. Thanks.

I have am LGC2000 on a 3500 and an LGC3000 on a 5200. I’ve had periodic issues with them.
The 3500 went out due to getting too hot in direct sun…they are pretty heat sensitive.
Are you certainb that your unit recognizes the LGC4000. I don’t think they interchange.

Make sure that you have the latest software update on the head unit. The LGC2000 has a code update with special instructions for the update. Consult the Lowrance web site.

According to the technicians at Lowrance, the LGC 4000 is the replacement module for the LGC 2000. I do have the latest software on the unit.

Keep your phones away from the “receiver” also if you unplug the unit and plug it back in sometimes that worked for me. I used to have problems with my old lowrance that resembled your problems

I have also been able to unplug it and plug it back in and worked fine for me. When you have it unplugged look at the connections to make sure there in no corrosion there.

I have a Lowrance LMS-525 and a 5200 chartplotter with the LGC 3000 antenna and have experienced the same issue. The problem with mine was the antenna power wire had become disconnected in the console. Once I patched that she was working like a champ. You said you already tested the voltage so that may not be your issue. I live in Goose Creek so if you are close by you are welcome to try your antenna out on mine so you can troubleshoot it.

cdt2316,
That would be great if I could hook my antenna up to see if that is for sure the problem. Would save alot of headaches. Don’t know what your schedule is. I work nights. You can usually reach me 11AM to 3PM.
