Need help with trailer lights, I am losing it!

OK so I bought a replacement kit. Brake lights work, turn signals work, turn on the headlights and nothing in the trailer works? I have replaced the kit once, I have checked the fuses, I have tested the pig tail of the truck with 2 testers and both testers light up saying everything is fine, I have sanded down the metal where the grounds go to make sure its fresh metal, I have the ground round clips that come out of the bulb housing screwed into the pack of the bulb housing between the metal part that latches onto the pvc running poles and the washers, as i said I replaced the kit and the same thing happened again, I dusted the ball on the truck to ensure a complete ground, all the lights on the truck work fine, any advise? It s a 03 Mitzu Montero sport. thanks for any direction cause I am at the end of my rope!

hook a ground wire between the trailer and the chassi . If you have a reciever hitch, they normally don’t ground well. I allwasy make sure you have a dedicated ground wire(white) from the vehicle to the plug, and from the trailer plug to the frame of the trailer. grounding thru the trailer ball is not sufficient

dito learned the hard way!

So if I did have a dedicated white ground wire going from the pkug up into the truck it would most likely be bolted in either under the bumper area or up behind the one taillight where the little converter box is located right?

If it swims throw a fly at it!

Found the problem! the metal fixture clips that the light housing screws in to at the top of the pvc running poles did not have enough steel to provide a strong enough ground for the energy pulled by the taillights, but did have enough for the directional and brakes lights. thanks as always gents!
