It worked fine until last trip. Tried to use it and the remote didn’t seem to work the unit. Tried everything. Read the book and noticed the remote was locked. Followed directions to unlock, but it didn’t work ( the lock symbol is still on). Ideas? It is almost brand new.

Hold the light button in the middle of the remote down for 3 seconds and it should unlock or lock depending on the mode its in.
It may need to be paired with the tm. I cant remember off hand how to do it, but its in the manual.

I tried that but not with trolling motor. I will put it back on the boat and try again. Thanks

The lock function is only a part of the remote. So if you can’t get it to unlock, try removing the battery for a few minutes and then put it back in. Hopefully it will reset the remote.

If I have problems with remote response on the unit, I always unplug the trolling motor data cord and reconnect. Kind of like rebooting the trolling motor computer. Always works for me. I have even had it not respond after going through some mud, so their must be a fail safe mode built into the head unit.

It is the battery on the remote! I found that carrying spares is crucial.

I recently had my iPilot remote just quit talking to the trolling motor. Battery appeared to be ok and I “relinked” them 10 times and did a bunch of other stuff. Turns out I had a weak cell in one of my batteries. It appeared ok on the green led’s but, alas, wasn’t so. Changed out the batteries (both new now) and it’s been perfect since.
Maybe someone who lives near you could come over and try their remote just to see if it’s the remote or something in the trolling motor itself. If I was close I would, but I can’t make it to Charleston any time soon. Hopefully you get it fixed soon.

I’ve had an iPilot now for about 5-6 years…invariably when remote stops communicating it has always been the battery in the remote. BTW, if you buy a battery at Walgreen’s it’s gonna cost ya about $5…order same battery on line from Battery Depot and pay $1.75 each…with free shipping. I normally buy them by the dozen and put in ziplock in the boat…
