Need some direction

I spent the first 15 years of my fishing life fly fishing for trout. Actually had a personal lesson from Lefty himself back in late 70’s. I havent picked up a fly rod since 85. I wan’t to get back into it and teach my boy. The two fly rods i do have are wooden and at least 25 years old. (I made one of them) I would appreciate some suggestions on a good rod to get started with (under $200)and/or the “specs” i need to know when looking for a new rod and reel.

Anyone else out there learn to fly fish at “The Brotherhood of the Jungle Cock”

BS,
What species will you be targeting? Mtn trout I stick with the 6’ 3wt, redfish 7/8wt, and spec trout 6wt.

I live on the Wando so Reds and Specs.

temple fork Outfitters makes very good economical rods. Lefty endorses and helps design and test the rods as well. Best bang for the buck in my opionion

CA has some sage rods on sale. I bought one as a back up and I really like it. If you want just one rod to chase both species, go with an 8wt
