Need some help and advice

Been fishing eleven times since i got back from college. all I have caught is a lady fish and a trout. every time i have put in at sol legare landing and headed towards the stono inlet/kiawah river. fished up in multiple creeks, at the creek mouths on the main river, and around some docks on the stono and kiawah. fished mud minnows, cut finger mullet, and shrimp on the bottom, with a jig head, and under a float. caught fish in some of these spots last summer. the boat i am in doesnt have a trolling motor or a depth finder so its hard to know how deep i am fishing. my problem is im having trouble finding fish. would like to get my friend from nc on his first redfish. any suggestions or tips on proper ways to fish to find some reds?

Try fishing the low tide coming in. Put your bait right up next to the grass. Literally 1 to 2 feet off. I usually fish with a smaller hook and split shot for weight. I find the smaller hooks and lighter weight leads to less snags on the oysters. Try around docks and creek mouths. Most reds I have hooked up on in that area are close to the grass.
