Two days ago I wrapped a prop and shaft with half inch line. Took 3 of us over an hour to cut it loose free diving with a mask. Would like to get an on board octopus system. Any thoughts on type, brand, cost, etc would be appreciated.

I think what your looking for is called a hookah rig (brownie). They can be fairly expensive and require a scuba certification to purchase. Find a friend thats certified and purchase a pony bottle which is about the size of a large coffee thermos and has the mouth piece attached. I carry one on my belt just in case.
