need vet help

I have a dog that has a big lump or something come on her belly. I can touch or squeeze it and she doesn’t mind. I would like to find out what might be the problem but don’t have any funds. Do ya’ll have or know anybody that might could take a look see. If I don’t get a job real soon I’m gonna have to get rid of the dogs and a whole lots of other stuff.

It could just be a fat deposit. My parents dog gets them and the vet says they would cause more trouble to remove them. They’re very common in labs if that’s what you have.

sc it is on her belly next to a tit. about as big around as an egg and about 3/4 inch thick. feels hard and she doesn’t act like it bothers her. Edisto she is a cocker/fiest mix.

When you are feeling the lump, is it symmetrical, and is it completely smooth with no “hard” edges inside the mass? (like pieces of broken shell)

It could be many possibilities and to know for sure it would have to be aspirated and examined. Lipomas are benign fatty tumors that are pretty common. Hopefully that is all it is but just keep an eye on her for signs of health deterioration.

ED, My vet told me the same about my mutt. He's a mostly lab mix and started having the fatty lumps at about 8-9 years old. Vet said unless there's a change in the lumps or other symptoms, like a change in eating, then don't worry about the things.

This dog eats like she is starving.
