Needs steps for getting into a boat

My father and father-in-law no longer can get into my 22 foot, deep vee boat at my pier. I was thinking of trying to erect or purchase some non-permanent steps with a handrail so that they can get into the boat rather than trying to climb over the side. (I will have to add some plastic steps in the boat that can be removed so they can step down into the boat.) Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Alternatively, does anyone have any recommendations for someone who can fabricate aluminum who could build something that might work?

Give Stonoman a yell! He was looking for something similar a while ago! Can’t remember what he came up with! Might have been his boat lift, not sure?

Send this guy a pm http://old.charlestonfishing.com/forum/privatesend.asp?method=Topic&mname=palmettotrooper. His name is David and he does a lot of metal fabrication with aluminum and stainless for boats and trucks. He does a lot of advertising on THT. Here’s a link to some of his work http://www.thehulltruth.com/fishing-miscellaneous-items/426156-rod-holders-galore-custom-made-half-price-poling-platforms-too.html.

These should work fine. They are reinforced plastic steps for getting into a hot tub. They weigh less than 4 lbs., disassemble, and worked for some 80+ year olds to get into a boat at my dock.

Most of the older men I take fishing just fall off the dock into the boat and crawl to a seat! I’ve had this happen more than once, I to need to find a good entry way to my boat that is light and portable!
