I know the reg.s about 1/2" mesh size/ one inch when pulled tight. So, has anyone come across a problem with the DNR regarding repairs to their net??? If you get a nice size hole in your net where you repair it is not quite reg. specific. When you tie the two sides of the rip together usually will not pass the eye test for the regulation. Has anyone addressed this with or gotten in trouble with the DNR regarding repaired nets?
Is the overall net 1/2" mesh size Classification all that matters and repairs are a given or can someone get in trouble for a repaired net?

Lots of questions
All of the DNR guys I have dealt with are cool and understand this stuff. If you are trying to pull off a 3/8 net as a half saying you repaired it, that would not fly. DNR guy isn’t going to measure each hole in the net. They want the guys with 100 quarts of shrimp and the guys at the landing slashing tires.
I’m not saying if you give one a hard time because you are drunk and running on expired tags, they won’t find something to ram it on home to you, to teach a lesson.
I think what he was saying is if it looks like a repair job and by chance it isn’t 1/2" on your repair job I doubt the man will say anything…you should be okey dokey smokey pokey…I call that picking gnat chit out of pepper…
