just wondering how some people store their nets during the off season i been keeping mine in the betts bucket with the lid on. Just wanna know the best way to make my nets last the longest.

I do the same, minus the lid. i find they develop less of a smell with the lid off.
always stored mine in the container it came in…no problems…

I wash mine after every use and every now and then, soak them in water and a little fabric softener. They smell better.
I hang mine from the rafters in the garage

Net manufacturers recommend not letting the net hang with the weights off the ground. It stretches the net too much. I just bought a new one for shrimping season myself!
Bonzo and Yakman I agree it hangs but the weights dont hang they touch the garage floor

Dont forget the fabric softner! I use it once a month.seems to take the kinks out and nets hangs right again
Put all four of mine in bucket of fabric softener, made the mistake one year of getting the rope in it. That fricking rope was so slick you couldn’t get the net in the boat…lol. If you try the softener deal wash the net before using or you will bust your ??? on the deck another… lol… experience talking been there done that. Cowpen here I come.
