I got a Ocean Scrambler XT, its a good kayak for me and I let buddies borrow it all the time and they love it. Good balance on it (dont use my post to falling in judge your opinion of it, that was my own stupidity). But it’s am amazing little kayak! Brand new I think they run about $700, I got mine second hand from a fella on Craigslist for 300, he had some extra stuff to throw on including a seat and I paid $350 total. But I highly HIGHLY recommend it!

Another option would be to search around craigslist for them, theres always a good handful of them on there. Just look up the stats on them before you contact the seller, thats all I did. Definitely would’nt spend a whole lot on your first one, go the second hand route, that way you can play with it and modify like you want until you can get a feel for what works best for you. Good luck, ITS A BLAST!

Thanks shoulda thought of that

there’s a topic on here for a Ride 135 for $500. That’s a pretty sweet deal if it’s in good shape

I also have an ocean kayak scrambler xt…They are a good starter kayak…You can get them at academy sports for $450 brand new and I have also seen them go for $350 at the Bass Pro shops in Atlanta…I live in the upstate and most of the shops up here have a day you can try out the kayaks they sell…
