My friend just went to Myrtle Beach and took a kayak out about 100yds and brought in 3 3-4ft sharks. I read an article about this and have been intrigued by it since. My brother is coming to visit me next week and he wants me to introduce him to surf fishing and I thought it would be awesome to give a kayak a try for a new adventure.
SO…if i wanted to do this do you know of anywhere near Charleston, S.I. , etc… do you think we would have as much luck as in Myrtle Beach… Thanks for any advice I wasnt sure if you could rent a kayak to fish out of.

I know where Not to try it…Breach inlet. Maybe Folly beach or Edisto when the weather is almost perfect. Take a bigger than normal anchor for the yak. Sounds like a lot of fun to me. oh… if the wind is blowing, stay downwind of any rocks.

Yeah Breach Inlet would be kind of rough lol. Pretty fast currents. Im gonna look online and see if theres any places i can rent from. I think there may be one at Folly.
If you’re thinking of renting one, Charleston outfitters rents them. It is located off of Johnnie dodds blvd, in the k-mart shopping center across from east cooper hospital. A couple of good places to put in that are close by are the old pitt st. bridge in Mt. P and also on a good day in the surf by fort moultrie… I have caught some nice reds in the creeks by the old pitt st. bridge.
