I’ve always wanted to try it, and I am doing it for sure next trip. I have a wilderness system 11ft sit-in kayak, with flush rod holders. I can’t fit a crate inside, but i have a nice sized tackle bag that can be bungied in. Can a flow-troll be used for live bait? Do yall anchor? and whats the best approach for fish?

keep it simple. carry one or two rods, a few jig heads w/ gulp or doa, some circle hooks if you use live bait, and weights. you can fit everything you need for a day on the water in a zip lock bag if you need to.
a flow trol bucket works fine. put it in the yak with you when paddling as it creates a lot of drag.
i anchor or stake out part of the time and drift fish quite a bit too. you can always tail into the grass to stay in one place.
best approach - pick a spot and start fishing. i don’t mean that to sound like a snide remark. in an 11 foot sit in I’d stick to creeks and shallow bays where you won’t have to deal with a lot of boat traffic.
DRESS FOR THE WATER TEMP!!! layers plus waders or dry pants and a splash/ rain jacket. WEAR YOUR PFD…In the yak is not the same as on your body.
Safety gear for a sit in: pump or baililng bucket and sponge, shove a couple of pool noodles in the boat to keep it from sinking if you get swamped, dry bag with dry clothes and a space blanket, standard required gear, cell phone /vhf radio in a dry bag.
File a float plan - let them know where you’re going and when to expect to hear from you.
pm or e-mail me if you like. I’ll answer any questions.
