Any tips on how to control/reduce mold under a boat cover in charleston? I just got a 18 ft trailer boat, ordered a cover.
Should I put a trouble light in it, put a vent fan in it, open it on clear days?
info- Boat has no carpet.
I bought a fitted, vented boat cover for our 17ft. One winter and the inside of the cover and the boat covered in mold…no more fitted cover… tarps instead.
Whatever you cover it with - leave a hole at front and back so air can flow thru the boat. I had a fitted on a boat and had same problem. I put the front over the rails and left it open on either side of the engine. Did the trick. It does open the door for cats though.

a small fan on a lamp timer, let it run a couple hours each day.
